Key Information

When is it?

Wednesday evenings starting 5th November 2025.

What is it?

The Time to Harmonise course is a free 6-week course for anyone interested in singing a cappella music, in particular barbershop in a choir. Come and join our weekly rehearsals where we warm up and then work on a song - in this case carols for singing at Christmas!

Where is it?

It is at our normal rehearsal venue, which is:

St Edwards Royal Free Ecumenical Middle School
Parsonage Lane
Windsor
SL4 5EN

Who is it for?

Anyone who like to sing!  Our members range from musicans with years of singing experience to those who have only sung in the shower before. Whatever your experience and you love to sing in harmony, or are curious to learn more barbrshop / a cappella this is the time to find out! Come along and see.

How much does it cost?

Nothing! It is free.

What will we be singing?

A selection of carols in the 4-part harmony style.

Do I need to prepare before hand?

No. Just come along and we will provide the music and learning materials.

How do I sign up?

Click on the link here (TBC)

What happens if I cannot make a rehearsal?

Don't panic! Come to as many as you can. We will keep you updated on what you have missed.

What parts are there in a barbershop chorus?

There are four parts, comprising a Tenor, Lead, Baritone and Bass. The Lead normally sings the melody, with the other 3 parts harmonising around it. For those who have sung before the following may help:
  • Tenor = Alto or Countertenor
  • Lead = Tenor 1 or Tenor 2
  • Baritone = Tenor 2 or Baritone or Bass 1
  • Bass = Bass 2 or Bass 1
